Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has once again triggered controversy with his statement on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He called the transfer of the actor's death case to the CBI "illegal" and took a dig by saying "bring Mossad and KGB too."
Mossad is Israel’s intelligence agency and the KGB, translated in English as the Committee for State Security, was the secret police force that was the main security agency for the Soviet Union until its dissolution in 1991.
The Centre had accepted Bihar government’s plea to transfer the probe to the CBI, which has now registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others in the case. The case was being probed by the Mumbai Police, and the Maharashtra government was opposed to handing it over to the CBI.
Talking to reporters, Raut said, "The incident (Rajput''s death) took place in Mumbai. The FIR was filed in Patna and the Bihar government recommended a CBI probe. The Centre immediately agreed. This is illegal. The case is now technically with the CBI."
Raut said, "Bring Mossad and KGB too. There is nothing to hide. We are not opposing the CBI. When the Mumbai Police is already on the job, what will the CBI do?"
He also said that the everyone, including the family of Rajput, should remain quiet for some time and let the Mumbai Police conclude their investigation in the actor’s death case.
Raut has been served a legal notice by Sushant’s relative for his comments on the late actor’s family and his relationship with his father. In his column for party mouthpiece Saamana a few days ago, Raut had alleged that the actor was not on good terms with his own family and had strained relations with his father after his second marriage.
