Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa's son B.Y. Vijayendra and MPs Pratap Simha and Shobha Karandlaje are among the 10 vice-presidents appointed to the state unit of the party.

The party announced its new office bearers on Friday, almost a year after Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel took charge as the state president.

The newly-appointed vice-presidents are Arvind Limbavali, B.Y. Vijayendra and Nirmal Kumar Surana (Bengaluru central), Shobha Karandlaje (Udupi), Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and M. Shankarappa (Bengaluru south), Malikayya Guttedar (Kalburgi), Pratap Simha and M. Rajendra (Mysuru), and M.B. Nandish (Tumakuru).

Four general secretaries—N. Ravikumar, Siddaraju, Ashwath Narayana and Mahesh Tenginakayi, and ten secretaries—Sateesh Reddy, Tulasi Muniraju Gowda, S. Keshav Prasad, Jagadish Hiremani, Sudha Jayarudresh, Bharathi Magdum, Hemalatha Nayak, Ujwala Badavannache, K.S. Naveen and Vinay Bidre have also been appointed.

Leher Singh Siroya and Subbanarasimha have been appointed as treasurers, while Lokesh Ambekallu as the office secretary and Captain Ganesh Karnik as the spokesperson.

Dr A.H. Shivayogi Swamy and M.B. Bhanuprakash are the coordinators for the BJP cells.

The heads of the frontal organisations include two Rajya Sabha MPs—Eeranna Kadadi (Raitha Morcha) and Ashok Gasti (Backward Classes Morcha).

Dr Sandeep has been appointed as Yuva Morcha president while Geeta Vivekananda (Mahila Morcha), Chalavadi Narayanaswamy (SC Morcha), Thipparaju Havaldar (ST Morcha) and Muzammil Babu (Minorities Morcha) are the other chiefs.

After Kateel took charge in August last, he toured the state and appointed the district presidents across the 39 (organisation) districts in January this year. However, the appointment of state-level office bearers was kept in abeyance.

During the reconstitution of the district units, Bengaluru district, for the first time, was divided into three. The district units were asked to focus on the upcoming Gram Panchayat and the BBMP elections. However, the GP polls have been deferred and the BBMP polls too might not be held in September first week owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
