India on Wednesday suspended all existing visas to the country, except diplomatic, official, UN/International organizations, employment and project visas, till April 15. The decision was taken at a meeting of the GoM held in Delhi under the chairpersonship of Union health minister Harsh Vardhan.

“Visa free travel facility granted to OCI card holders is kept in abeyance till April 15th 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure,” said an official release.

It said any foreign national who intends to travel to India for compelling reason may contact the nearest Indian Mission. 

India reported 10 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the number to 60.
