It's no secret that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is a devotee of Lord Hanuman. On Tuesday, after his party made a landslide victory in the assembly elections, Kejriwal thanked Hanuman ji and said it was his blessing.

Addressing the jubilant AAP workers at the party office, he said: "This is the day of Lord Hanuman who has blessed the people of Delhi. We pray that Hanuman Ji keeps showing the right path to us so that we continue to serve people for the next five years."

According to latest trends, the AAP is leading in more than 60 out of the 70 assembly seats in the capital. Despite the high-voltage campaign, the saffron party is unlikely to even cross the double digit mark.

Kejriwal's reference to Hanuman ji is also seen as a response to the Bharatiya Janata Party which had mocked the chief minister for showing his devotion.

A few days before the Assembly elections, Kejriwal was seen reciting 'Hanuman Chalisa' in a television programme.

Reacting to this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "Now Arvind Kejriwal has started reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa'. In coming days, you will see (AIMIM chief) Owaisi reciting the same. This will certainly happen.”

The BJP had also attacked Kejriwal over his visit to a Hanuman temple before casting his vote, with party's Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari attacking the chief minister for “touching the idol without washing his hands”.
