Chetan Singh Rathore, DCP Bengaluru (Central) sang the national anthem as an innovative move to calm protesters and get them to disperse from Town Hall The protesters were refusing to vacate the place. However, they left in peace after the national anthem was sung.
Protestors had convened at Town Hall to show defiance against the government's Citizenship Amendment Act. They, however, stood up in place when the DCP asked the protesters to sing with him if they trusted him.

DCP Chethan Singh Rathore, who won many hearts by his speech to anti-CAA protestors in Bengaluru on Thursday, which led to the protestors calling off the protest, urged people to respect the law.
Speaking to a private television channel, Rathore on Friday said, "Yesterday, it was only my humble request to the people not to allow leadership of the mob to go into wrong hands. Even today, I urge people to respect the law."
