Kerala rain hits train traffic: Here's the complete list of cancelled trains

Several other trains have been cancelled owing to the rain and floods

The rail traffic via Alappuzha route in Kerala restarted on Saturday morning. The services in this route were suspended on Friday as the tracks were found to be unsafe as incessant rain continued to batter the state. Several other trains have been cancelled owing to the rain and floods. The engineering department of the Southern Railway has informed that the authorities are trying to resume the services at the earliest. Services have been resumed in Palakkad-Shornur, Shornur-Pattambi route.

A special train will start from Ernakulam via Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai will start at 3 pm. The Kerala Express scheduled to start at 11.15 am from Thiruvananthapuram will start at 12 pm. It'll be travelling via Nagercoil and Madurai. The train will not pass Palakkad and Coimbatore. The train service between Kayamkulam and Alappuzha which was stopped on Friday has been resumed. Short distance train services are operational in the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam-Thrissur route via Kottayam and Alappuzha. All long distance train services in the Shoranur route have been cancelled due to the landslides in the area.

Railway promises refund

All passengers of cancelled trains may apply for refund. These passengers will receive a TDR (ticket deposit receipt) till October 15. They may apply for a refund using this receipt. The timeline is also applicable for those possessing e-tickets. The TDR may be submitted in IRCTC website. Those who applied for the tickers via UTS on mobile app may apply for refund by sending an email to cospm@sr.railnet.gov.in. The ticket number and reason for cancellation must be clearly stated in the mail. Passengers without internet access may ask for a refund via post. The postal address for the same is Chief Commercial Manager, Passenger marketing, Southern Railway, Moore market, Chennai 600003.
