Two days after rains battered central Gujarat city of Vadodara and threw life and vehicular traffic out of gear, waters have started receding.
The rescue operations by NDRF, SDRF and Army continued for the second day on Friday, even as the state government released an aid of Rs 2 crore for urban areas of Vadodara and Rs 20 lakh for rural Vadodara.
Chief secretary J.N. Singh said that Rs 60 would be given to an adult per day as cash doles for three days. Child will get Rs 45 per day and Rs 2,000 will be given as assistance towards household goods.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel visited Vadodara late evening on Friday. While Patel visited patients at the hospitals, Rupani held a meeting with district officials.

Almost all areas of Vadodara were under waist-deep water and waters had entered the ground floor of several buildings.
On Friday, the residents had difficult time cleaning slush from their homes.
Electricity supply, which was snapped in several parts of the city due to precautionary measures, has been now restored. State transport bus services and train services have resumed. Vadodara airport has also become operational.
More than 7,000 people were rescued to safer places. More than 1.50 lakh food packets were distributed in last three days.
A government release said that 840 pregnant women were shifted to hospitals.
Singh said in the upcoming days, an operation will be undertaken to clean the city.
Meanwhile, heavy rains lashed Rajkot city in Saurashtra on Friday. There has been a forecast of heavy rainfall till Saturday for several parts of Gujarat.
