The deadly terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, which killed 40 jawans, has once again left the politically volatile state in turmoil. Post the attack, the state, which is already under president's rule, has witnessed intense protests and demonstrations, anchored on strong anti-Pakistan sentiments, especially in Hindu-dominated areas like Jammu.

In the first episode of INSIGHT, a weekly podcast series, THE WEEK's senior special correspondent Tariq Bhat gives a cockpit view of the ground situation in the state. Tariq has been covering politics, militancy and social issues of Jammu and Kashmir for past 16 years.
