After hitting ₹75 crore in Keralam, 'Jailer 2' becomes first Indian film to gross the same in all four South Indian languages
The Rajinikanth movie surpassed the previous Keralam box office records set by 'Leo' and 'Baahubali 2'. On Day 17, 'Jailer 2' crossed the domestic lifetime collection of '2.0' to become the highest-grossing Tamil film in India
One of the biggest achievements of "Jailer 2" is its unprecedented performance across the four major South Indian theatrical markets. “Jailer 2” has become the first Indian film to earn over ₹75 crore individually in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala. This

One of the biggest achievements of "Jailer 2" is its unprecedented performance across the four major South Indian theatrical markets. “Jailer 2” has become the first Indian film to earn over ₹75 crore individually in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, and Keralam.
This milestone-marking event follows the Rajinikanth-starrer crossing the ₹75 crore figure at the Keralam box office on Day 17. It has now become the highest-grossing Tamil film in the state, setting a new record. It broke the previous records held by Vijay’s “Leo”.
"Jailer 2" also broke a non-Malayalam film record — the nine-year-old record held by SS Rajamouli’s "Baahubali 2", which had collected ₹72.25 crore in Keralam. On Day 13, Rajinikanth’s film crossed that figure, becoming the highest-grossing non-Malayalam film in the state. By Day 17, its Keralam gross had climbed beyond ₹76.25 crore.
During its first 16 days, the film earned ₹198.70 crore in Tamil Nadu, ₹92.85 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ₹88 crore in Karnataka and ₹75.20 crore in Keralam. Together, these four markets contributed ₹454.75 crore, accounting for 89.3 per cent of its total Indian gross of ₹509.45 crore at that stage.
The Keralam market milestone is particularly noteworthy. Non-Malayalam films have traditionally faced strong competition in the state, where local-language cinema enjoys considerable support.
The film’s performance is also notable when compared with major blockbusters such as "Baahubali 2", "KGF Chapter 2" and "Pushpa 2". Although these films achieved enormous lifetime collections, none crossed the ₹75 crore mark individually across all four major South Indian markets.
Adding to its achievements, "Jailer 2" has also surpassed the domestic lifetime box-office collection of Rajinikanth’s science-fiction film "2.0", becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film in Indian domestic box-office history.
'Jailer 2' Day 17 worldwide and domestic box office collection
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action entertainer has become one of the biggest commercial successes in Indian cinema. On its 17th day, Saturday, October 31, 2026, the film moved closer to the ₹800 crore worldwide milestone, while strengthening its position in the major South Indian markets.
According to figures reported by trade portal Sacnilk, "Jailer 2" has collected ₹790.85 crore worldwide. This includes ₹444.75 crore in net collections from India, an Indian gross of ₹520.35 crore and an overseas gross of ₹270.50 crore. Its strong performance in both domestic and international markets has helped the film maintain its impressive box-office momentum.
The film also witnessed a major increase in collections on its third Saturday. Its Indian net collection reached ₹9.35 crore, a 70 per cent rise compared with Friday. The film was screened across 8,738 screens in India and sold an estimated 6.92 lakh tickets on the day.
The Tamil version contributed ₹6.70 crore, followed by the Hindi version with ₹1.45 crore. The Telugu version collected ₹90 lakh, while the Kannada version earned ₹30 lakh.
