An interesting casting development has emerged regarding the third “Extraction” film headlined by Chris Hemsworth and directed by Sam Hargrave. Aside from Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani and Idris Elba reprising their original roles, Pierce Brosnan, Don Lee, and Joe Taslim have joined the ensemble, in addition to Chi Lewis-Parry (former professional MMA fighter-turned-actor) and Siena Agudong (known for Tubi’s “Sidelined” franchise and Mike Flanagan’s upcoming “Carrie” reboot series).

Interestingly, Don Lee (also known as Ma Dong-seok) is the lead of the Korean-language spin-off of “Extraction”, titled “Tygo”. This hints at a shared cinematic universe involving the characters played by Hemsworth and Lee (“The Roundup”, “The Gangster, The Cop & The Devil”).

While specific plot details and character profiles are strictly under wraps, production is currently active in Sydney, Australia. Hemsworth returns as the unstoppable mercenary Tyler Rake, while Elba reprises his role as Alcott (the mysterious operative introduced in “Extraction 2”), and Golshifteh Farahani is back as Rake's trusted partner, Nik Khan.

Hargrave, a stunt supervisor-turned-director, is handling a screenplay by David Weil. Principal photography is expected to run through October 2026 in Australia before moving to select European locations, ahead of an anticipated 2027 release on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Don Lee will also be seen in the fifth instalment of “The Roundup”, the police action thriller series. Brosnan is also appearing next in the second season of “MobLand” with Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren. Taslim, last seen in the Hong Kong action blockbuster “The Furious”, is known for “The Raid”, “The Night Comes for Us” and the three-part action series “Warrior” (based on the writings of Bruce Lee).
