German rock and heavy metal legends Scorpions have cancelled their tour in India due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.
The band was set to begin their tour in Shillong on April 21 and was scheduled to travel to Delhi, NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai later this month.
The tour was produced and promoted by BookMyShow, who announced that all tickets will be automatically refunded within 7-10 working days.
The statement from the organisers said that the band was very keen to perform in India.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans. The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule,” the statement read.
The four tour stops this time were part of their Coming Home tour that marked the band’s 60-year legacy.
The last time the Scorpions performed in India was two decades ago, in 2007 in Shillong.
Band members recall their visit to India fondly. Vocalist Kals Meinie, who is 77, told Rolling Stone India that the band was feeling upbeat ahead of the tour. “We still enjoy what we’re doing. We’re still very passionate about things and very excited to go on this road ahead,” he said.
“We’re still standing, god knows how long we can do this. We’re getting older every year, but when we see the fans in front of the stage, we get so much energy and power back from our fans that we’re still young at heart,” he added.
They had been scheduled to perform at Shillong on Apr. 21, 2026, at RBDSA Sports Complex, Delhi-NCR on Apr. 24, at HUDA Grounds, Gurugram, Bengaluru on Apr. 26, at NICE Grounds, before closing in Mumbai on Apr. 30 at Jio Gardens, BKC.
