Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is now the first Bollywood film to cross Rs 200 crore in gross advance sales. The feat was earlier achieved by four other Indian movies, including Pushpa 2, Leo, RRR and Bahubali 2.
The paid previews of the movie began at 5.30 pm on Wednesday. In a first for a Bollywood film, theatres in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad have opened bookings for post-midnight and early morning shows.
In worldwide pre-sales collection for the extended opening weekend, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has minted more than Rs 125 crore in domestic box office alone, reports Sacnilk.
In opening day pre-sales collection, the Ranveer Singh starrer raked in more than Rs 100 crore, including Rs 73 crore in domestic box office and Rs 35 crore in overseas screens. This includes premiere shows too.
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is now lifetime No. 1 on BookMyShow, breaking Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan record. It has sold 14.81 lakh tickets on the platform till Wednesday, according to Sacnilk. Jawan sold 11.02 lakh tickets in the same 24-hour window while Ranbir Kapoor's Animal sold 7.24 lakh tickets, Tiger 3 at 4.73 lakh and Chhaava at 4.69 lakh.
The espionage movie is releasing in more than 17,000 shows across multiple languages. The film has been given an A rating by the censor board. It has runtime of three hours and 49 minutes. The film is banned in Gulf nations and Pakistan.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge features Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. He disguises himself as Hamza Ali Mazari, a spy operating deep inside Pakistan. The sequel will show Mazari's rise in the Karachi underworld. Actors R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi will also return in the sequel.
