Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge entered the Rs 250 crore club on its Day 2, even as final collection reports are awaited.
On Day 2 alone, the Ranveer Singh starring spy thriller collected Rs 66.95 crore in net domestic box office collection, as of 7 pm, reports Sacnilk. The movie is currently running in 21,596 shows nationwide. This takes the total net domestic earnings to Rs 212.5 crore.
The total gross domestic collection was reported to be Rs 251.63 crore.
Prior to its release, the Aditya Dhar directorial collected Rs 43 crore from 19,180 paid preview shows. This is the highest ever preview day collection for an Indian movie. The previous record was held by Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, which raked in Rs 25 crore. On Day 1, it collected Rs 102.55 crore from 21,728 shows.
The Hindi version, which has 20,445 shows, collected Rs 65.48 crore. Telugu has collected Rs 1.2 crore while Tamil has collected Rs 25 lakh. There were not much viewers for the Malayalam version as most would prefer watching the movie in Hindi itself, according to reports.
The worldwide gross collection on Day 1 was reported to be Rs 236.63 crore. This also includes Rs 64 crore from overseas screens. The worldwide net collection of Dhurandhar 2 was reported to be Rs 139.78 crore on Day 1.
Besides Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar 2 also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the sequel will show Ranveer Singh's character Hamza Ali Mazari's rise in the Karachi underworld.
