The writing seems to be on the wall for Dileep as his latest release Bha Bha Ba is struggling big time at the box office. The mass-masala entertainer directed by debutant Dhananjay Shankar has hit the crash button after a strong opening day. Bha Bha Ba registered the third biggest opening for a film in Kerala this year, second only to Mohanlal's Empuraan and Rajinikanth's Coolie.
An opening day of Rs 7.20 crore was magnificent, although that was largely due to the presence of Mohanlal in an extended cameo. The veteran superstar is having an unprecedented 2025 with all three of his theatrical releases becoming blockbusters apart from two re-release film also hitting the jackpot. In such a scenario, his cameo in a big mass film was worth its weight in gold.
To state the obvious, Dileep and the makers of Bha Bha Ba were aware of the massive push that Mohanlal's presence would give, and that translated to a big opening day. However, cracks were visible even then, considering that the film should have coasted past Rs 8 crore with the kind of advance booking it had. Nevertheless, it still was a big start which has then started to come down heavily.

On its second day, Bha Bha Ba only managed Rs 3.19 crore in Kerala, which is a gargantuan fall of more than 55 percent from the opening day figures. It was still explainable, given that Friday was a working day, although this kind of drop is definitely alarming regardless. Saturday, though, should have registered a jump in collections due to the weekend factor but that is not to be.
Bha Bha Ba is set to drop further from its second day and it means warning bells for the Dileep starrer. It could struggle to touch the Rs 3 crore mark on its third day. Tracked figures till 5 pm show Rs 2.16 crore and even if it touches Rs 3 crore, the trend is still very much flat and not ideal. All eyes are on how the evening and night shows perform. If they stay flat, the film's fate may have been sealed.
