Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan on Monday shared fascinating details about the making of the iconic mask worn by Hrithik Roshan's beloved superhero character Krrish.
He explained that the designing process for the mask took six months to be perfected, during which time the outfit was also worked on.
“It took about six months because we were designing and wanted to see which looks better on Hrithik ... The outfit and all that took six months,” he said, in a vlog by choreographer-director Farah Khan at his Khandala home.
He added that the mask—which became a signature element of Krrish's hidden vigilante persona—was made out of wax, due to which it presented unique challenges during filming.
"Hrithik used to wear the mask for three to four hours. The wax would melt. He had to remove it and put in a new one. So I had an air-conditioned bus with the AC on for 24 hours,” the filmmaker said.
'Krrish' (2006) saw Hrithik Roshan play a dual role alongside Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Rekha, and Naseeruddin Shah.
It quickly captured the superhero fantasies of children born in the 2000s and became a box office hit, leading to two more sequels.
'Krrish 4' was officially announced in April this year, with shooting finally set to begin in 2026, following reports of delays.
