Renowned Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla, who captivated Punjabi audience worldwide with his performances in the satirical series 'Chhankata' and movies 'Carry on Jatta' and "Jatt & Juliet, passed away on Friday morning at a private hospital in Mohali where he was admitted following a brain haemorrhage. He was 65.

A popular comedian and character actor, Bhalla rose to fame with his audio-visual satirical series "Chhankata" in 1988, where he played the character of Chacha Chatar Singh.

Carry On Jatta series, in which he played the iconic role of Advocate Dhillon. The role brought him widespread recognition and is a highlight of his career.

Jatt & Juliet and Jatt & Juliet 2, where he played Inspector Joginder Singh.

Mahaul Theek Hai (1999), a comedy film directed by Jaspal Bhatti. It is a satirical take on the functioning of the police departments of Punjab. 

Jihne Mera Dil Luteya (2011), a romantic comedy film directed by Mandeep Kumar where he played Professor Bhalla.

Mel Karade Rabba (2010), starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Neeru Bajwa. He played uncle to Sheirgill's Rajveer Gill.

Power Cut (2012) and Kabaddi Once Again (2012).

Rangeelay (2013), where he took the role of Retired DSP Baldev Singh.

Jatt Boys Putt Jattan De (2013).

Carry On Jatta 2 (2018), in which he played Advocate Dhillon again.
