RRR and Devara star NTR Jr has announced the completion of filming the remaining portions of War 2, with Hrithik Roshan. In his Instagram stories, the actor posted a note in which he expressed admiration for the Vikram Vedha star's energy and work ethic.
"And it's a wrap for War 2," he wrote. "So much to take back from this one. It's always a blast being on set with Hrithik Roshan sir. His energy is something I have always admired. There is so much I have learned from him on this journey of War 2."
While the first film was directed by Siddharth Anand ("Pathaan", "Fighter"), the sequel is directed by Ayan Mukerji ("Wake Up Sid", "Brahmāstra: Part 1"). Commending the filmmaker's work in War 2, NTR Jr wrote, "Ayan Mukerji has been amazing. He has truly set the stage for a big surprise package for the audience. A big thanks to the YRF team and all our crew for the love and effort. Can't wait for you all to experience this high on August 14th."
War 2 is the latest in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2023), and Tiger 3 (2023). Aside from War 2, the YRF banner is prepping another entry in the same universe, titled Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail, and headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. It's the first female-led spy thriller from the Aditya Chopra-owned production house, and is expected to release on December 25, 2025.
