Actor-turned-director Prithviraj Sukumaran has turned into a full-blown fanboy. The 42-year-old is gearing up for the release of his film L2: Empuraan, which quickly became the undisputed highly awaited film of the year in the Mollywood industry.
Ahead of its release on March 27, the actor presented the trailer to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, the first person outside the production team to view it. Taking to his social media accounts, Prithviraj posted a photo of the duo, along with the caption, “The very first person to watch the trailer of #L2E #EMPURAAN I will forever cherish what you said after watching it Sir! This meant the world to me! Fanboy forever! @rajinikanth #OGSuperstar.”
Fans were thrilled by the post, with one commenting, "Two legends in one frame," while another wrote, "Prithvi living the life he mentioned before 16 years." Many even started speculating whether Thalaivar himself would make a cameo in the film.
L2: Empuraan is the sequel to Prithviraj's directorial debut Lucifer. The film packs a stellar cast with Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles, along with Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Angelina Abraham, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Saniya Iyappan.
The film, which released in 2019, was a cinematic blockbuster and earned rave reviews while also dominating the box office, grossing over Rs 125 crore against a budget of Rs 30 crore.
