The band's frontman Chris Martin revealed that they will stop recording music as a band in 2025.

It was during an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s special broadcast that the singer said, "Our last proper record will come out in 2025, and after that, I think we will only tour.”

Coldplay is a British rock band that rose to the top charts in the early 2000s. Formed in 1998 at the University College, London, they gained fame with the release of 'Yellow' in 2000. The full length 2000 debut “Parachutes” earned the band its first Grammy Award, for the best alternative album.

The band is led by Chris Martin and includes Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Phil Harvey as the creative director.

Martin had told Absolute Radio during the release of their ninth album 'Music of the Spheres' in October that ''This is not a joke, this is true. I think after 12 that will be the end of our catalogue, but I think we will always want to play live together.''

He also noted at the time that it would be cool if they could still be touring in their late 70s.

The fans of the band have been posting mixed responses in social media. While some say they have made a positive mark in music, others predict that they will be back in 2030 for more money with some new members, just like other bands.

The band has plans to go sustainable, in their next tour with a dance floor that is partly powered by the electricity produced by the fans jumping up and down on the kinetic flooring at the venue.

The band, in the meantime, has been nominated for the 2022 Brit Awards in the best rock/alternative and the best group categories.
