Alia Bhatt’s birthday treat: First look of Sita from Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt on Monday took to social media to reveal her first look from the movie RRR directed by ‘Baahubali’ franchise director S.S. Rajamouli.

Alia, who turned 28 on Monday, shared the film poster, in which she looked stunning, clad in a green saree with a forlorn expression. The caption simply read, ‘Sita’—the name of her character.

A day before, Alia had shared another picture of a silhouette, giving a glimpse of her character without revealing much about it. “Coming tomorrow,” she had written.

Director S.S. Rajamouli also shared the poster on social media, presenting Alia as Sita, describing the film to be “legendary”.

“Strong-willed and resolvent SITA's wait for Ramaraju will be legendary! Presenting @aliaa08 as #Sita to you all,” he wrote.

This is Rajamouli’s first project since his blockbuster movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion came out in 2017. Rise Roar Revolt (RRR) was expected to release last year, but its shooting was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from Alia, the period action-drama also features Ajay Devgn, Ram Charan and Jr NTR. As per reports, the film is set in the 1920s. It is a fictional story of two legendary freedom fighters—Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem.

RRR will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously on October 13 this year.
