A day after Kangana Ranaut alleged that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to demolish her Mumbai office, the BMC served a notice for ‘illegal construction’ in her office.

A notice issued under the section 354(A) of Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act, to stop the ongoing work inside the premises and produce the permissions for the illegal constructions, the Indian Express reported. “We have served a notice to Ranaut to submit documentary evidence and permissions regarding illegal constructions. If she failed to file a reply within 24-hrs we will initiate action of demolition of illegal extensions, “said Vinayak Vispute, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, H-west ward (Bandra west).

Reacting to the notice, Ranaut tweeted, “Because of the criticism that @mybmc received from my friends on social media, they didn’t come with a bulldozer today instead stuck a notice to stop leakage work that is going on in the office, friends I may have risked a lot but I find immense love and support from you all.”

After BMC officials visited Kangana’s office on Monday, she had tweeted videos of them inspecting the office, adding that there is nothing illegal in her office. Sharing the video, Kangana wrote in Hindi on Twitter, “This is the Manikarnika Films office in Mumbai. It took 15 years of hard work to achieve this. It was one of my dreams to have my own office if I ever got the opportunity to become a filmmaker. But now it looks like my dream is going to be destroyed. Today, some BMC officials showed up unannounced.”

She added, “I have all the papers, BMC permissions nothing has been done illegal in my property, BMC should send a structure plan to show the illegal construction with a notice, today they raided my place and without any notice tomorrow they demolishing entire structure.”
