Days after the tragic suicides of TV actor Manmeet Grewal and Preksha Mehta, popular for her role in the show Crime Patrol, owing to financial difficulties caused by the COVID-19 lockdown, another tragic story of an actor who has been out of work has emerged.

Rajesh Kareer, who was seen in the TV show Begusarai and had even acted in the Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey: The Rising, shared a video in which he is seen requesting people to help him in whatever way possible so that he can return to his hometown in Punjab.

He begins the video by introducing himself and saying it is not the time to feel embarrassed as life is going to be hard if he starts feeling ashamed. I am in desperate need of help, says the actor.

He says he has been living in Mumbai with his family for the past 15 to 16 years and adds that he has been out of work for some time. However, the past few months have been worse, he says.

The actor says he does not know when the shootings would resume and even if they start, he doubts if he would be able to get any work anytime soon.

I want to live, he says, and requested people to contribute whatever amount they can, even if it is just Rs 200 or 300, so that he can go back to his hometown and get some small job.
