Superstar Rajinikanth, who will soon be seen in Discovery channel's Man vs Wild series, thanked host Bear Grylls for an 'unforgettable experience'. The shooting for the episode featuring Rajinikanth took place in Karnataka's Bandipur Tiger Reserve on Tuesday. This also marks the veteran actor's television debut.

Ranjinikanth tweeted: “Thank you very much dear @BearGrylls for an unforgettable experience ... love you. @DiscoveryIN thank you #IntoTheWildWithBearGrylls.”

According to reports, Rajinikanth had suffered minor injuries while shooting for the episode. Speaking to ANI, the actor said: “I have finished the shooting of an episode of 'Man vs Wild'. I have not received any wounds but just scratches due to little thorns, that's it. I am alright.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared on the show last year in August.

Rajinikanth reached the Bandipur Tiger Reserve after taking a brief break from the shooting of his 168th film in Hyderabad. He reportedly began the shoot for the episode on Tuesday morning and it went on for six hours. The actor was accompanied by his daughter Soundarya and a team of people. The Karnantaka forest department had given official permission for the shoot, with certain conditions. Some wildlife activists had opposed shooting inside the tiger reserve.
