The first look of actress Ramya Krishnan, who will be essaying former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in a web series—Queen—is out. The highly anticipated poster was released on Wednesday, and the trailer will release on December 5, to coincide with Jayalalithaa's death anniversary.

The poster shows Ramya Krishnan, dressed in a crisp white sari with the three-colour border. Behind her is seen a huge crowd, waving party flags and sign of the two-leaf symbol of the AIADMK. The series, directed by Gautham Menon and Prasath Murugesan, is one among the three upcoming works based on the actor-turned-politician's life. The other two are feature films with Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role in one and Nithya Menen in the other.

The first look teaser of Kangana's bilingual film Thalaivi also released recently. Hollywood prosthetics expert Jason Collins of Captain Marvel-fame has worked on Kangana’s look in Thalaivi, directed by A.L. Vijay.

Jayalalithaa's niece J. Deepa had approached the Madras High Court to stall release of the films and web series.

In her petition, Deepa reportedly stated: “Dr J Jayalalitha is a great political personality and the said life story cannot be filmed without adding the life of [J Deepa] as part of the film. In such an event, the same would amount an interference of the privacy of [J Deepa]. More so, [J Deepa] is not aware of the story, script, screen play, dialogue, etc., prepared by the [directors and producer] in producing the said movie and for the web serial. [J Deepa] fears that the [directors and producer] may portray Dr J Jayalalitha and her personal life in the life story and [J Deepa] part in the life story may also be depicted by the [directors and producer] in their own version which may affect the family privacy and [J Deepa’s] privacy.”
