American singer and Priyanka Chopra's husband Nick Jonas was on the verge of slipping into a coma a day before he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, at the age of 13. The singer shared this in an interview with Cigar Aficionado magazine. "I was very close to a coma. Like, a day away, if I hadn't gone to the hospital," said 27-year-old Jonas.

He added, "I kept asking my parents, 'Am I going to be OK?' I was just so concerned that it was going to limit my ability to do all the things I wanted to do. I was very scared." He revealed the first time he was brought to the hospital, his sugar levels were at 917! He said that he figured out slowly that it is a 'manageable disease'. Jonas said, as a teenager, he had started showing symptoms of Type 1 diabetes—loss of weight and craving for sugary soda.

This is not the first time Jonas has opened up about being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. In September, Jonas told the Insider that being outspoken about the condition has helped him realise that there are other people experiencing the same, and that his fans had been very supportive.

The Jonas Brothers' 2008 album, ''A Little Bit Longer', was inspired from his diagnosis.
