Vedaant Madhavan, son of actor R. Madhavan, was among the team of swimmers that fetched a silver medal for India in the Asian Age Group Championships held recently in Bengaluru.

He was part of the team of boys that won the 4x100m freestyle relay for group II boys. The team, featuring Vedaant Madhavan (55.27s), Utkarsh Patil (57.10s), Sahil Laskar (54.83s) and Shoan Ganguly (54.29s) clocked a total time of 3:41.49 seconds. They finished behind Japan, who won the gold with a time of 3:34.60 seconds.

The actor took to social media to announce the news. “India gets her Silver medal at the Asian Age Games . Gods grace .. Vedaant's first official medal representing India,” Madhavan wrote on Instagram.

Actor Rohit Roy was among those who commended first, congratulating the young achiever. "Incredible achievement! Congrats Vedaant and team India," he wrote, while Raj Kundra, husband of actor Shilpa Shetty, called him a "rockstar". Many of Madhavan's followers praised Vedaant for his achievement.

14-year-old Vedaant had also won the bronze medal for India in an international swimming meet that was held in Thailand last year.
