Reacting to the abrogation of Article 370 and the continued lockdown in Kashmir, Tollywood actor Trisha Krishnan, who is also a celebrity advocate of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), expressed concern over the schools in Jammu and Kashmir being shut for the past few weeks and said the plight of children in the state is "worrying".
According to media reports, the actor recently said shutting down of schools is another sort of violence that is being inflicted on children, adding, "Anything that is violation of child rights is violence against children."

She pointed out that a lot of things can be eradicated if there is good education made available to children.
High schools in the Kashmir Valley had reopened on Wednesday in areas where restrictions have been lifted but students kept away, reported PTI. Jammu and Kashmir Director of Information and Public Relations Sehrish Asgar had said on Tuesday that "The education department has decided to open all high schools in Kashmir Valley in areas where relaxations have been provided."
Meanwhile, there are reports that internet services in Jammu and Kashmir are unlikely to be restored anytime soon as Pakistan has launched a campaign against India and is also trying to instigate Naga insurgents with provocative videos against the government.
