Ayushmann Khurrana is back and how. After delivering two back-to-back hits—Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun and Article 15—the actor is back with a laugh riot—Dream Girl.

The trailer of the movie shows Khurrana as a man who plays female mythological characters in plays, much to the disapproval of his family. “Tumhare Amma ne kitne vrat-upvaas karke ek beta paida kara, aur tum kabhi Sita ban jate ho, kabhi Radha,” his father tells him.

Later, he starts to work as a female talecaller because of his ability to mimic the voice of a girl and begins to chat with customers. To the customers, he is Puja, and a host of them, including a cop played by Vijay Raaz and a woman played by Nidhi Bisht, call him often and he talks to them in his seductive voice.

The title of the film could possibly be a throwback to a 1977 movie, Dream Girl, starring Hema Malini, Ashok Kumar, Dharmendra and Prem Chopra in the lead.

Nushrat Bharucha plays Khurrana's love interest in the movie. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the movie also stars Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, and Sumona Chakravarti apart from Khurrana, Bharucha, Raaz and Nidhi Bisht.

Ahead of the trailer launch, Khurran had shared a promotional video on his Instagram page with the caption: “Bajegi aapki dil se seeti jab Dream Girl ka trailer dekhenge ye 5 cities.”
