In a fitting tribute to Sanjay Dutt fans on the actor's 60th birthday on Monday, it was revealed that Dutt will essay Adheera, the antagonist in Kannada film, KGF: Chapter 2. A few days ago, the makers had built up suspense around the character by releasing a poster which did not reveal the face.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the character poster from the upcoming film and wrote, "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT... Sanjay Dutt as #Adheera in #KGFChapter2... #SanjayDuttAsAdheera."
Dutt also took to his handle to confirm the news and share the poster. KGF: Chapter 1, directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Yash, released last December and was a box-office hit. The sequel will also be helmed by Neel. Set in the early '80s, KGF: Chapter 1 was a period drama set in the Kolar Gold Fields, portraying the oppression and the rise of a rebel. Packed with action sequences and spectacular visuals, the film was hailed for its art direction and cinematography as well.
KGF: Chapter 1 which was Kannada film industry's most expensive film, also went on to become one of its highest-grossing hits.
