Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth reviewed the operational preparedness and prevailing security situation of formations under the Eastern Command during his visit to key military establishments, while outlining his vision of "VIJAY" for a future-ready Indian Army.

During his visit to the Trishakti Corps on July 14 and 15, the Army chief was briefed on the operational situation in the Eastern Command. The General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps, apprised him of operational deployments, surveillance architecture and the prevailing security dynamics.

General Seth also reviewed initiatives related to technology absorption, capability enhancement and force modernisation being undertaken by the formations.

On July 15, the Army chief visited Bengdubi Military Station, where he assessed regional security arrangements and reviewed operational logistics.

He later visited the Spear Corps, where he evaluated its operational preparedness. Senior officers briefed him on the evolving operational environment, inter-agency coordination and measures being taken to further strengthen combat readiness. He also reviewed community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability and development across the Northeast.

Interacting with commanders and troops, General Seth outlined his vision of "VIJAY", built around the principles of vigilance, innovation, jointness, Atmanirbharta and Yodha First.

He said these principles would help the Indian Army remain agile, adaptive and future-ready, while contributing to the Viksit Bharat Vision 2047.

The Army chief also commended all ranks for their professionalism, high morale, operational excellence and unwavering commitment while serving in challenging conditions.

The Eastern Command visit comes just days after General Seth reviewed the security situation and combat readiness of troops in the forward areas of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, his first visit to the sector since assuming office.

During that visit, he was briefed at the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps headquarters on the security situation in the Jammu region and the operational preparedness of formations under the corps.

General Seth later visited forward locations in Poonch, where he reviewed security arrangements and operational preparedness. At the Poonch Brigade headquarters, senior commanders briefed him on troop deployment, the prevailing security scenario and the readiness of forces to respond effectively to emerging challenges.
