Quick-commerce platform Instamart announced a partnership with the state-owned enterprise Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited to deliver 10kg and 5kg LPG cylinders directly to customers through the application on Wednesday. The launch will initially go live in Bengaluru.
The collaboration also introduces HPCL’s new cylinder, HP Navya, a next-generation 10kg LPG cylinder. According to the company, the product is made with corrosion-resistant materials for an urban consumer’s lifestyle. It also features a lighter, translucent body that will allow consumers to monitor gas levels.
Amit Garg, director of marketing at HPCL, said, “We are making LPG more accessible and convenient for Naya Bharat, with a focus on the safety, trust and reliability that customers associate with HP Gas. Through the Instamart platform, we will be able to reach customers through a fast, convenient and digitally enabled platform, making HP Navya composite LPG cylinders more accessible while enhancing the overall customer experience.”
Customers are not required to have an existing domestic LPG connection to order the cylinder on the application, providing working professionals and students without a permanent residence in the area with an alternative option.
How to place an order
Log in to the Instamart app
On your mobile device, download the Instamart application or the Swiggy application. Create an account or log in to your existing account, using your phone number and a one-time password (OTP). If you use the Swiggy application, navigate to the Instamart section, visible below at the top, along with the other icons.
Search for “LPG gas cylinder”
At the top of the section, a search bar will be visible, where you can search for “LPG gas cylinder”
Select the product
From the two options available, choose either the 10kg ‘HP Navya’ or the existing metal 5kg cylinder.
Place the order
Choose your preferred payment method and place your order.
First-time orders will require proof of identification and will be treated as a new cylinder purchase. For refill orders, consumers will have to return the previous cylinder at the time of delivery. The cylinder will be delivered by trained personnel from HPCL who will follow all safety and regulatory requirements.
