PokerBaazi, WinZo and Dream11

WinZo and PokerBaazi were among the apps that discontinued their real-money games on Friday as President Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025. It was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Thursday and the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Industry bodies, including the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF), the E-Gaming Federation (EGF), and the Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS) have wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah earlier, pointing out that the sector is a sunrise industry with a valuation exceeding ₹2 lakh crore and annual revenue of over ₹31,000 crore.

WinZo

Announcing that its real-money games would be withdrawn from August 22, WinZo on Friday pointed out that not every feature they came up with were driven by the pursuit of monetisation. Rummy, Solitaire, Dehla Pakad, Fantasy Cricket, and Poker were among top paid games on WinZo.

Gameskraft

RummyCulture, which is owned by Gameskraft, will also have its "Add Cash" and "Gameplay" features suspended. The company said in order to fully comply with the new gaming bill, the users can continue withdrawing money from its platform and assured them that their funds are safe.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi also declared on Friday that no real money games will be offered on its platform. It assured users that their funds would be "completely safe" and they can continue using the wallet for withdrawing money.

"Our Player Relations team will remain available to support you with any queries or assistance you may need during this transition," the statement read.

The message from Team PokerBaazi also expressed hope that "the future will once again allow us to celebrate the game we all love."

Nazar Technologies, which owns over 46 per cent stake in PokerBaazi parent firm Moonshine Technologies, has seen its shares plunging around 17 per cent in the past three sessions.

Dream11

On Friday, Dream11 noted on its website that they have discontinued cash games and contests but urged fans to stay tuned. Its parent company Dram Sports paused all "Pay to Play" contests on its apps Dream Play and Dream Picks. Like PokerBaazi, Dream11 assured users that their "account balance is safe" and can be withdrawn when needed.

MPL

Mobile Premier League (MPL) also suspended its real-money games, informing users that new deposits will not be accepted anymore but they can withdraw their balances without hassle.

Pointing out that MPL has always focused on becoming the largest competitive gaming platforms, the company spokesperson said it will continue offering "competitive, free to play, non-money based gaming experiences".

"We will keep our community informed about next steps as we complete the shutdown process for online money games," the spokesperson added.

Zupee

Zupee assured users that they are fully operational and that players can continue enjoying free games such as Ludo Supreme, Ludo Turbo, Snakes & Ladders, and Trump Card Mania. It revealed that its paid games will be discontinued in line with the new gaming bill.
