Co-founder and CEO of caller-identification app Truecaller, Alan Mamedi, took to social media to recount his first encounter with former Infosys CEO and co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy eight years ago.
Mamedi said when he met Murthy first almost eight years ago, he did not know who the latter was or what he did. "After an inspiring hour of discussing everything about life, I asked him what he do and he said 'My wife always told me that because I had luck in life, I must give back, and that's what I'm doing today. Giving back'," Mamedi wrote.
The Truecaller CEO called Murthy "an incredibly humble person."
Mamedi told Murthy that when he was a child, he wanted to work for Infosys. “When he later told me about Infosys, I told him that my dream as a kid was to work for his company after our computer broke at home and a guy from Infosys came to our house to fix it. It's funny how life plays out sometimes.”
It's funny how life plays out sometimes, Mamedi wrote.
When a user said it was funny that Mamedi, who is the CEO of the app that helps identify people, did not know anything about the person he was meeting, he replied, "Need a caller ID for the real world."
Mamedi, in tweet, clarified that it was not an employee of Infosys that visited his home to repair his computer after a user asked, "Wait a minute. A guy from Infosys visited your house to fix a computer? They do those things as well?"
"Not really. I bought a used computer from a company who had a service deal with Infosys and I inherited the warranty from them. The service guy was pretty surprised that he had to fix it in someone's kitchen," he wrote.
