Budget 2019: Modi govt's vision document for next 10 years

Stand-in Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday laid out a 1o-dimensional vision document for the next decade in his budget speech. The vision document is aimed to reach the full potential of the country as a society and an economy. India is poised to become a five trillion dollar economy in the next five years and through the vision document the country  aspires to become a ten trillion dollar economy in the next 8 years thereafter.

Here are the 10 dimensions of the vision document

1. To build physical as well as social infrastructure for a ten trillion dollar  economy  and  to  provide ease of living. It will comprise next generation infrastructure of roads, railways, seaports, airports, urban transport, gas and electric transmission and inland waterways. On the social infra
structure side, every family will have a roof on its head and will live in a healthy, clean and wholesome environment.

2.To build a Digital India that reaches every sector of the economy, every corner of the country and impacting the life of all Indians.

3. Clean and Green India, an India that drives electric vehicles, with renewables becoming major source of energy, bringing down import dependence on crude oil and increasing energy security

4. Expansion of rural industrialisation using modern industrial technologies through grassroot-level MSMEs and startups across the country.

5. Clean Rivers, with safe drinking water for, sustaining and nourishing life and efficient use of irrigation using micro-irrigation techniques

6. Development of oceans and coastlines particularly through the exploitation of Blue Economy.

7. Reaching outer skies, India becoming launchpad of the world and placing an Indian astronaut in space by 2022

8. Self-sufficiency in food and improving agricultural productivity with emphasis on organic food. High farm production and productivity will be achieved through modern agricultural practices and value addition.

9. Building a Healthy India, with distress-free and comprehensive wellness system for all

10. Electronic governance, minimum government and maximum governance, with a proactive, responsible and friendly bureaucracy
