In a shocking incident, printed note of obscene messages was found pasted on the wall of the restroom for women athletes at the Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru. According to reports, the note was signed by 'Sports Authority', even as it is widely believed that the miscreant would be an outsider.
“This is to inform you that, please do fingering (masturbating),” the note said addressing the girls (athletes). The message, which also has a disturbing graphical content, continues: “..before running race, you have to do this in the bathroom.”
Reports said that the message was noticed by a few junior girls on Saturday who later alerted their seniors. The women are now scared to use restrooms as they fear that the miscreants might have also placed a camera inside.
The incident came amidst several allegations already being raised from different quarters about the “pathetic” condition of the stadium. The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports had recently issued ID cards to athletes and coaches after “eve teasing” incidents were reported.
Pramila Aiyappa, coach and a former athlete, does not believe that any sportsman from the DYES hostel would do it. “It could be an outsider or some insider seeking revenge on the management for the decision to issue ID cards to coaches, parents and hostelites,” she told a news portal.
