Teams of the National Investigation Agency are camping in Kerala's Palakkad and Kasaragod districts to investigate the missing case of 21 youths who are suspected to have joined the global terror outfit ISIS.
The NIA began its probe into the case after the state government handed over the investigation to the central agency given the wide gamut of probe the case requires.
The NIA teams will gather evidence regarding the possible radicalisation and recruitment modes used by the outfit to lure the Kerala youth and trace their journey from the state to the suspected ISIS hotbeds in Syria or Afghanistan, sources said.
The case of the missing youth gained particular attention after widespread arrests from different states of ISIS sympathisers and radicalised youth who were allegedly planning to carry out lone-wolf attacks in the country.
