More revelations have cropped up about the shocking murder where a mother reportedly killed her son and burned his remains. The charred body of Jithu Job, a 14-year-old student of Kundara MGD Boys’ High School, was recovered on Wednesday. He was missing since Monday night.

In the meanwhile, Jithu’s sister on Friday said that her mother Jayamol had been emotionally unstable for the past one year.

The young girl reported that the woman used to experience fiery tempers but calmed down soon after, due to which the family shied away from seeking treatment.

Jithu used to return from his father's place taunting his mother, she said, adding that he never tried to avoid infuriating her.

The girl also said that Jayamol was afraid that she will lose her son's love, adding that it was painful to see social media spread stories about her mother’s suspected illicit affair with someone.

The grieving mother who confessed to murder

Ever since Jithu went missing on Monday, police investigators visiting the house had met with a grieving mother who raised absolutely no suspicion.

In fact, the cops even comforted her when she told them that she hadn't eaten since the boy went missing.

But a contradictory statement she gave on Wednesday gave her in. When the CI asked about a burn mark on her hand, she told him it was from a thorn prick from a rose.

In the evening, when an SI asked the same question, she said she burnt her hand while lighting fire in the kitchen. She wavered when the cop asked if she didn't have a gas stove and that got the police suspicious.

On inspecting the compound, they found traces of a fire near the wall. Jaya told the cops that she had burnt off dry leaves. One of the boy's sandals was found near the fire. When the cops scaled the wall, and landed on the adjacent plot, the remaining pair of the sandals was found.

The cops saw crows swarming near a nearby house that was in ruins inside a rubber plantation. They found the charred body of the boy inside, burnt beyond recognition. When the cops returned to confront the woman, she confessed.
