Netizens in God's own country are having a field day at the expense of Amit Shah. The BJP chief arrived in Kerala for a three-day visit even as there is a raging row over the Union government's notification banning sale of cattle in animal markets for slaughter.
While Shah was accorded a rousing reception by hundreds of BJP workers when he landed at Cochin International Airport, trollers celebrated his arrival with a hashtag #AlavalathiShaji. The phrase is borrowed from an iconic film in the 70s, Lisa, starring late action hero Jayan. The dialogue Nee aanu ee alavathi Shaji alle, meaning 'you are the troublemaker Shaji, aren't you' is still popular among the young and old alike in the state.

It is not the first time that Kerala netizens trolled a BJP leader with a Twitter hashtag. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi compared Kerala with Somalia, trollers responded with the hashtag #PoMoneModi—a word play on another famous line—Po Mone Dinesha—from a Mohan Lal-starrer Narasimham.
