Dangal actor Zaira Wasim became the victim of a molestation attempt on a flight recently.
In a video that the 17-year-old actor posted on her Instagram account, she narrated the horrific ordeal she faced while traveling on board the Delhi-Mumbai Vistara flight.
Zaira, popular for her roles in Bollywood flicks Dangal and Secret Superstar, broke down multiple times while narrating the harrowing experience she faced. She said a middle-aged man who was sitting behind her on the flight attempted to molest her.
Zaira said the man kept his feet on the armrest of her chair and when the actor protested, the passenger said he was doing it because of turbulence. To her horror, the man went on to touch her neck and back with his feet.
She said she received no support from the flight crew when she raised an alarm.
Zaira said although she tried to take the photo of the man, she was unable to get a clear shot as the lights were dim.
“This is not done! this is not the way anybody should be made to feel! this is terrible," the actor said in the Instagram video that she posted soon after landing in Mumbai.
Barely managing to hold back her tears, the actor is seen saying, "Is this how they are doing to take care of girls? No one will help us if we don't decide to help ourselves. This is the worst thing."
Reacting to the incident, Vistara airlines said "We have seen the reports regarding Zaira Wasim's experience with another customer on board last night. We are carrying out detailed investigation and will support Zaira in every way required. We have zero tolerance for such behaviour," reports ANI.
