On the heels of a BSF jawan's video alleging hunger and ill-treatment of soldiers at the border, a CRPF personnel has raised his voice against the discrimination faced by paramilitary forces.

In a video, 26 year old Jeet Singh has claimed that the paramilitary jawans were not entitled to retirement pension, medical facilities or ex-servicemen quota unlike their counterparts in the Army. "We provide protection during elections and to institutions like Parliaments and airports, but the facilities provided for us are below par," he said.

Earlier in the day, BSF said the constable, Tej Bahadur Yadav of the 29th battalion had posted a video claiming that poor quality food was being served to soldiers on the LoC. His social media video posts had prompted authorities to initiate action into the allegations.

The jawan, wearing camouflage uniform and carrying a rifle, claimed that while government procures essentials for them, the higher-ups and officers "sell it off" in an "illegal" manner in the market and they have to suffer.

He had also alleged that troops were facing "cruelty" as they were served "bad quality" food and even have to go on "empty stomach" at times.
