Top actors of Telugu film industry has announced their generous contribution to the Chennai relief fund. The state capital of Tamil Nadu is reeling under the worst flood in century due to unprecedented torrential rains. According to reports of initial assessment, the city has incurred a financial loss to the tune up to Rs 15,000 crore.
Actor Allu Arjun who lived nearly two decades in Chennai has announced a donation of Rs 25 crore.
"I would like to donate 25 lakh to Chennai flood relief. I spent 18 years of my early life there. It made me who I am today. I love u Chennai," tweeted Allu Arjun.

Meanwhile, other leading actors have also done their bit for the city, which is now in deep waters.
Actors Mahesh Babu and Junior NTR have pledged an aid of Rs 10 lakh each and Ravi Teja and NTR's actor-brother Kalyanram has announced Rs 5 lakh each towards the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
"Felt very sad when I saw pictures of damage caused by floods in Chennai. Tarak and I will be contributing to the Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund," Junior NTR tweeted and eh also urged others to help in best way possible.
“Shocked and saddened at the natural calamity engulfing Chennai. This is the time to stand in support for our fellow citizens. I did my bit,” wrote Raji Teja on his Facebook page.
The situation in Chennai still remains grim, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting more rains in coming days. All the three forces of Indian army have been pressed into the rescue operations as most part of the city remains inundated.
New movie releases in the city have been postponed as theatres are being used to provide shelter to stranded people. Meanwhile, Rajnikanth has made his Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Triplicane available for providing food and shelter to flood-affected families.
