Even as right-wing activists staged protests against Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dilwale in various parts of the state on Friday, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur said that the actor was a patriot.

"Yes, he is a nice man and a patriot," Gaur told reporters here when asked about the protests.

He further said the film was "very good" and the people should watch it.

Earlier, BJP general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya had strongly criticised Shah Rukh Khan for his comments on intolerance.

The release of Dilwale was marred by protests in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and other parts of the state. The protesters have taken exception to Khan's comments a few weeks ago where he had expressed concern over rising intolerance in the country amid a raging debate on the issue.
