    Ranchi, Sep 5 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday greeted teachers and mentors on the occasion of Teachers' Day, saying they are the guiding lighthouse of life.
    He also remembered his father and former CM Shibu Soren as his greatest teacher and inspiration.
    "Teachers are the guiding lighthouse of life. My teacher, my guide, is the late Baba Dishom Guruji. His life, filled with love, struggle, sensitivity, and impartiality, has always been a source of inspiration for me. Today, Baba is no longer with us in body, but his teachings, thoughts, and ideals will always continue to provide strength," Soren posted on X.
    JMM founder Shibu Soren died on August 4 while undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. He was 81.
    In a state-level celebration held at the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) campus, the government felicitated 128 teachers with certificates and shawls in recognition of their contributions to developing modules and digital formats for the mandatory 50-hour Continuous and Comprehensive Professional Development (CCPD) programme for teachers.
    Assistant teacher at PM Shri High School, Manuva, in Ramgarh district, Surendra Prasad Gupta, and assistant teacher at Upgraded +2 High School, Dawari, in Chatra district, Manoj Kumar Choubey, who were recommended for the national teacher award, were honoured with a cash award of Rs 25,000, a shawl, memento, and certificate on the occasion.
    Speaking at the function, secondary education director Rajesh Prasad said teachers play significant role in shaping students’ future.
