Bengaluru, May 1 (PTI) Air Marshal Tejinder Singh on Thursday assumed charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Training Command of the Indian Air Force here.
After assuming his new appointment, the Air Marshal paid homage to the bravehearts by laying a wreath at the Training Command War Memorial, an official release said.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Singh was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on 13 June 1987.
He is a Category 'A' Qualified Flying Instructor with over 4,500 hours of flying experience, and an alumnus of both the Defence Services Staff College and the National Defence College.
He has commanded a fighter squadron, a radar station, and a premier fighter base, and has served as Air Officer Commanding, Jammu and Kashmir.
His varied staff appointments include serving in the Operational Staff at a Command Headquarters, as Air Commodore (Personnel Officers-1) at Air Headquarters, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Financial Planning) at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, Air Commodore (Aerospace Safety), Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Offensive), Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Strategy), and Senior Air Staff Officer at Eastern Air Command, Shillong, Meghalaya.
Before his current appointment, he served as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan).
In recognition of his meritorious service, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 by the President of India, the release added.
