Maharashtra IPS officer relative die in road accident in Telangana

    Hyderabad, Mar 29 (PTI) An IPS officer from Maharashtra and his relative died in a road accident in Nagarkurnool district in Telangana on Saturday, police said.
    Sudhakar Pathare, currently posted in Mumbai Police, had recently come to Hyderabad for training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), police said.
    He was travelling from Hyderabad to the temple town of Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along with his relative, they said.
    The vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a bus in Amarabad mandal on Saturday afternoon, a senior police official said.
    Police, after getting information about the incident, rushed to the spot and shifted them to a hospital, but they died while being taken to the hospital.
    The injured driver of the vehicle (MPV) has been admitted to a hospital.
    Police said a post-mortem was being conducted, and the bodies would be shifted to Maharashtra after completing due procedure.
    The Telangana Police have informed their Maharashtra counterpart after the incident.
