CHILD PRODIGY

The child genius who has an IQ more than Einstein's

Rahul-Doshi

Child prodigies and young geniuses are often heard of, but no one knows the real measure of how bright a child genius's mind really can be. Rahul Doshi, 12, recently received the title of 'Child Genius' in Channel 4's television show of the same name. This school boy from north London competed along with 19 other children to gain the title. The final question that helped Rahul win the contest was one on 19th century artists William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais.

The contest started on August 14 and was aired everyday of the week till Saturday when Rahul emerged as the winner. The boy with the IQ of 162, beat Ronan Maher from Lancaster in the final round. With an IQ higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawkings, Rahul is about to start year 8 at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet this year.

The son of Indian origin parents—mother, Komal who is a phramacist and father, Minesh, a IT manager—Rahul is a voracious reader. He was enrolled to a Kumon study class for extra maths and English and by age 10, Rahul was working on GCSE maths questions. The Child Genius competition is hosted by Richard Osman and is aired on Channel 4. Children between ages 8 and 12 compete for the title. The competition tests knowledge of children in subjects like maths, history, english, spelling and memory power.

Rahul falls in the 1 per cent of Mensa test takers, whose score reach the highest of 162. Rahul, apparently was not interested in playing with kids of his own age until recently and would flick through newspapers from the age of three. The little Harry Potter fan one day wishes to be a financial adviser.
