Pakistan People's Party has issued a clarification after reports claimed party chairman and former Mayor Bilawal Bhutto is engaged to marry Austrian Archduchess Gloria von Habsburg.
Though there has been no comment on the matter from Bilawal or his family, Karachi Mayor and PPP leader Murtaza Wahab has termed reports incorrect. “The news story regarding Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s engagement or wedding is incorrect and unfounded,” the post read.
The clarification came as reports emerged in Pakistan's Urdu daily, the Daily Ausaf, that Bhutto’s wedding preparations were underway. However, the report did not cite any sources. This is in reference to the statement by the presidency that Zardari had travelled abroad on a private visit on August 27. However, no further details were provided regarding the purpose of the trip. So far, there has been no comment from Bilawal or his family on the matter. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He is the son of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former President Asif Ali Zardari. Bilawal has emerged as an influential figure in Pakistani politics and has also served as Foreign Minister.

It is also unclear how the media ended up on the name of 26-year-old former Austrian Archduchess Gloria von Habsburg, the daughter of Archduke Karl of Austria and Francesca von Thyssen-Bornemisza. She is the great-granddaughter of Karl I, the last reigning emperor of Austria and King of Hungary.
