Indian-origin author and new-age spiritual guru Deepak Chopra is one of the latest Indians to shock the world after appearing in the Epstein files for discussing paranormal experiments and "cute Israeli girls" with the sex offender.

The shocking conversations between 2016 and 2018 are part of the latest tranche of three million files related to notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which was released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) on January 30.

Chopra (based in the US) forwarded the sex offender a complex email thread in 2016 with the subject “proposal for a psi experiment", a New York Post report alleged, citing some of the latest Epstein files. Paranormal researchers are said to use the Greek letter 'psi' to refer to psychic phenomena.

In 2017, Chopra forwarded Epstein some more emails from a redacted sender, discussing psychic experiments involving “erotic/violent” images and observing the pleasure and pain response of a clairvoyant.

Clairvoyants are those who claim to have a 'sixth sense', or powers of the mind beyond the normal five senses.

Epstein's responses in the new emails show that apart from mathematics and science, he was also interested in fringe fields, such as telekinesis, clairvoyance and telepathy.

Other research that he discussed with Epstein included the use of autistic kids for telepathy experiments.

“I’ve been working with Diane Powell, MD and Deepak Chopra, MD on a project that is part of a long-standing clinical and research program of Dr Powell’s, studying telepathy in autistic children,” Paul J Mills, a professor of family medicine and public health at UC San Diego wrote in a 2017 email. Chopra forwarded this to Epstein with a note: “FYI.”

Other exchanges between Chopra and Epstein, some of which came out in late 2025, involved women.

"God is a construct ... Cute girls are real," he wrote in a 2017 email thread, before saying that "cute girls are aware when they make noises".

"Did you find me a cute Israeli?" the sex offender asked him at one point, to which he responded with an abstract answer.

Perhaps the most shocking email exchange was one from August 2016—which has gone viral—in which Chopra wrote about his "biological needs".

"My biological needs are met occasionally ... I do enjoy the company of younger intellectually sharp and self aware women and love to engage them to inspire and stimulate them," he wrote in an email to Epstein.

Chopra has since responded to the allegations in an X post on Wednesday, in which he admitted his "poor judgement in tone".

"I want to be clear: I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct. Any contact I had was limited and unrelated to abusive activity," he added, mentioning that he was "deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case".
