After President Donald Trump announced that a suspect in the Charlie Kirk killing was arrested, FBI has identified the accused as Tyler Robinson, ending the two-day manhunt.
Who is Tyler Robinson?
Tyler Robinson, 22, is from Utah and is a student at Utah State University. He reportedly confessed to his father about murdering Charlie Kirk. Following this, the father informed authorities to turn him in. He was arrested on Thursday night in St George near Zion National, around 400 km southwest of Utah Valley University where the shooting occurred.

Robinson allegedly fired a single shot at Kirk, 31, in the neck, following which he was rushed to hospital. But he succumbed to the injuries after undergoing a surgery.

Earlier, Trump told Fox & Friends about the arrest, saying, "I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him. It was a minister who was involved with law enforcement… his good friend is a top U.S. Marshal – and they took it from there."
"Somebody who was very close to him turned him in. I hope he’s going to be found guilty and I hope he gets the death penalty," the president said.
Beau Mason, the commissioner of the Utah Department of Public Safety, on Thursday revealed that the man who shot Charlie Kirk was of "college-age" and was able to blend in with the students at the Utah Valley University.
Pro-transgender and anti-fascist ideology were engraved on the ammunition recovered from the bolt-action rifle found from a wooded area. This was seen as a major clue regarding the motive of the assassin.
Earlier, two others were arrested after they were suspected of attacking Kirk. One of them was an elderly man, George Zinn, 71, who was dragged away in handcuffs. Hours later, police cofirmed that he was not the shooter and had nothing to do with the killing.
The other person arrested by FBI was Zachariah Qureshi but was released after interrogation.
