"I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him," Trump told Fox & Friends. "It was a minister who was involved with law enforcement… his good friend is a top U.S. Marshal – and they took it from there."

"Somebody who was very close to him turned him in. I hope he’s going to be found guilty and I hope he gets the death penalty," Trump said. He hinted that the suspect's father told him it was time to turn themselves in.

The President added that law enforcement officials will reveal further details later in the day.

A video from the Utah Valley University campus was released by the FBI on Thursday night, showing the shooter running across the roof and jumping off the building after opening fire at Kirk. He has reportedly left behind palm and footwear imprints. The footage was shared by the bureau and the Utah Department of Public Safety during a press conference Thursday night.

A bolt-action rifle was also recovered from a nearby wooded area. The ammunition found inside the gun had pro-transgender and anti-fascist ideology engraved on them.

FBI announced that they are relying on the public’s assistance in identifying the shooter and declared $100,000 reward as motivation for providing tips. The bureau has received over 7,000 tips regarding the assassination. Earlier, the FBI posted the photos of a person clad in dark outfit and urged the public to help identify him.

"We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University," he said.
